I’ve always loved creating and making things, and that’s developed as I’ve travelled. STMD began in 2019 with me making and designing felt brooches and ornaments, which I still sell. A friend introduced me to Japanese fabrics and I started using them in my work as they are beautiful and classic in themselves, feel lovely, and are a joy to work with. All the products in my store are handmade by me with love and care using quality materials.

The designs I use are often influenced by traditional and contemporary Japanese designs, which I think are classic but stylish. When I’m not at my sewing machine I can often be found baking or engaged in other crafts including sashiko, crochet (I’m currently making a blanket) and cross-stitch.
