Thanks for making MakeFest 2017 and Introducing MakeFest 2018

Thank you

Everyone behind Liverpool MakeFest 2017 would like to extend their thanks to all the public that came. We know many of you traveled from all around the Liverpool City Region and from much further distances just to be there on the day and we are truly humbled we brought in thousands to Liverpool Central Library. We’re looking to the public to help us evaluate #LivMF which was part funded by DCMS National Libraries grants from Arts Council England, BBC Children in Need, Dot Everyone, along with  valuable contributions from the Library as ever.

If you came to visit #LivMF17 please complete this short open survey: https://liverpoolmakefest.typeform.com/to/x1YXJf

Naturally we owe a great deal of thanks to all of the makers from #LivMF17 too.

It takes a lot for makers to get involved in any festival, whether that’s to demonstrate their creations, place exhibits, or run workshops. The time, skill, refinement and cost is often underestimated by many, including makers themselves! If you were a maker at #LivMF17 and you haven’t already completed your survey please check your email or contact us for a link to the survey, thanks.

We can’t thank the community of makers and the public enough. Thank you very much. We hope you enjoyed your time with us and we hope to see you again in the future. Please keep reading for a preview of next years applications.

Next Year

We’re already gearing up for #LivMF18 and we’ll be putting out a call this month.

We have some information ahead of the call though, so keep reading!

There’ll be several categories. Have a read to see which best suits you in advance.

Pitches

Pitches are trestle tables in singles or doubles, but no more. If you think you have enough space in either one or two trestles (6” x 2.5”, 12″ x 2.5″, 6″ x 5″) please go for this category.

Applications will run from November to February.

Workshops

Workshops will either require one or more attendees attention either sitting or standing in a area for no longer than 30 minutes (maximum workshop time if you’re allocating bookings). Workshops don’t match the space requirements of pitches and are completely hands-on. If this sounds like you please look go for this category.

Applications will run from November to March.

Exhibits

Exhibits are either static or moving, be them inanimate or sentient! This applies to everything from garments and fashion to mega kinetic sculptures via robots, and cos players (if you want to be featured in promo)! If you have something that fits the bill as an exhibit, or if you are exhibit yourself please look out for this category.

Applications run from November to April.

Not Long

That’s all we’ve got time for in this update.

We’ll be contacting everyone via email (attendees from our Eventbrite tickets and also past makers) when the call for makers begins plus we’ll shout about it too before you know it! So get your thinking caps on for then.

Once again thanks for making #LivMF17 so special for each other and we’ll see you all again at #LivMF18.
