Saint Vespaluus

(𝑷𝒐𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 π‘Ίπ’‘π’π’Œπ’†π’ 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅)

Saint is a legendary cult figure on the Merseyside poetry scene. After penning a much loved and frequently controversial column for the football fanzine When Skies Are Grey for many years, he returned to live performances in 2020.

Since then he has built up a fabulous reputation with his mixture of Spoken Word, stand up, accapella singing and outrageous cabaret.

Saint Vespaluus curates three monthly Spoken Word events in Liverpool and has played numerous festivals and events over the past year, including gigs in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester. Expect poems and tales covering such diverse topics as the problems of growing up in a heteronormative world; the uses and abuses of the English language; the horrors of β€œentitled middle-class South Liverpool folk” stealing clothes from charity shops; quite a lot about relationships, and of course the nightmares of trying to watch Gary Numan on TV with β€œyour military arl fella”!
