There are many different aspects to MakeFest and for many years we’ve had live talks and discussions throughout the day, in partnership with our good friends at Ignite Liverpool. They’ll be doing another cosy conference this year of course but we’ve also added some other attractions to our performance area. Located on the ground floor in the main foyer.

Midday – Spoken Word

For the first time we’ll have an extravaganza of spoken word from some great local poets: Cath Holland, Sally Porter and Saint Vespaluus. You can see them between midday and 1pm.

1pm – Ignite Talks

Ignite Liverpool will be running their amazing blend of short 5min talks from 1pm. The theme this time is what Liverpool might be like in 2053. Topics such as: Architecture And Power, Augmenting Human Intelligence, The Power Of The Media and more. Following the presentations there will also be chance to put questions to the panel and discuss topics further.

3pm – Tina Freeman

We are also delighted to welcome artist and illustrator Tina Freeman, who will be talking about her work, how the Sixties has influenced it, mod culture, and also displaying some of her books. It should be fascinating. You can see that from 3pm.
